Welcome to the official website of the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China in the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
Nigeria is located in southeast of West Africa and is the most populous country in Africa and is blessed with ancient history, multiple ethnic nationalities, splendid culture and rich natural resources. Since its independence on October 1, 1960, Nigeria enjoyed continuous economic and social development, and is now one of the largest economies in Africa.
Since the establishment of diplomatic ties in 1971, China-Nigeria relations have enjoyed sound development with deepened political mutual trust, enhanced economic and trade cooperation and strengthened people-to-people exchanges. In 2018, the two countries signed a memorandum of understanding on jointly advancing the Belt and Road Initiative cooperation. Taking the important opportunities of jointly building the "Belt and Road" and implementing the Outcomes of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC), both sides are committed to promoting China-Nigeria relations to stand at the forefront of China-Africa relations. Over the years, Nigeria has become the largest engineering contracting market, the second largest export market, the third largest trading partner and major investment destination of China in Africa.
The Chinese Embassy in Nigeria is dedicated to promoting bilateral cooperation between our two countries, enhancing mutual trust and friendship between the two governments and peoples, and providing more and better services to our Chinese nationals in Nigeria.
