Welcome to the official website of the Chinese Embassy in Nigeria, and your interest in the China-Nigeria relationship is appreciated.

Nigeria is located in the southeast of west Africa. It is the most populous country in Africa and is endowed with many nationalities, long history, splendid culture and rich resources. Since its independence on October 1, 1960, Nigeria has enjoyed continuous economic and social development, and is now the largest economy in Africa.

China and Nigeria established diplomatic relations on February 10, 1971. In 2005, the relationship between the two countries was upgraded to strategic partnership. In 2018, China and Nigeria signed the MoU on jointly advancing the Belt And Road Initiative cooperation. Nigeria has been China's largest project contracting market, major trade partnership and important investment destination in Africa over years.

It is hoped that this website will serve as a window for you to learn about China-Nigeria relations, and you may find it informative. You are also welcomed to follow our Wechat Official Account of the bridge between China and Nigeria and Twitter Account of Chinese Embassy in Nigeria.

Cui Jianchun
