Requirements for the Health Code Applications for Foreign Passengers to China

1. Passengers departing from Nigeria are required to take THREE Covid-19 nucleic acid tests in three different designated Covid-19 testing institutions before boarding.

The first nucleic acid test is required 7 days prior to the date of departure from Nigeria. For example, if the departure is on a Tuesday, the test needs to be taken on the Tuesday of the previous week.

The second and third tests should be taken within 48 hours before boarding.

For passengers leaving from Abuja, the test in the A-Medik Molecular Laboratory should be taken within 48 hours before boarding.

For passengers leaving from Lagos, the test in the Genequest Diagnostics Ltd should be taken within 48 hours before boarding.

2. Passengers should conduct 7 days self-quarantine and submit the Personal Health Monitoring Form.

3. Passengers should provide the certificate of full vaccination. And the full vaccination should be done at least 14 days before departure.

4. Passengers with a Covid-19 infection record or one positive result of nucleic acid test, IgM or IgG antibody test(positive antibody result caused by vaccination is not included) should truthfully report their infection history and test results to the Chinese Embassy or Consulate General, and go through the following procedures while applying for the Health Code:

(1)Provide medical certificates including Chest CT or X-ray reports (the certificates must indicate that there is no abnormality in the lungs or the person has fully recovered from Covid-19) issued by a legally registered medical institution together with two negative nucleic acid test reports at intervals of more than 24 hours from the institutions designated by the Chinese Embassy or Consulate General.

(2)After completing the above-mentioned procedures and 42 days after recovery (starting from the specimen-collection date of the latest negative test report), you can start the health code application process. You also need to take the antibody test in the designated lab within 48 hours before boarding.

5. Fill your application on https://hrhk.cs.mfa.gov.cn/H5/, upload soft copies of the following to apply for the Health Code: (1)all nucleic acid test results (2)certificate of full vaccination (3) passport data page (4) Chinese VISA page (5)Personal Health Monitoring Form (6) travel itinerary with only one stopover from Nigeria (7) Photo of the applicant being collected the specimen; (8) Chest CT or X-ray reports and the antibody test result (only for those with Covid-19 infection record)
