On May 16, 2025, Chinese Ambassador to Nigeria Yu Dunhai met with representatives of the World Health Organization (WHO), the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) and the World Food Programme (WFP) in Nigeria. The representatives introduced the operation of their respective organizations in Nigeria and looked forward to deepening cooperation with China in relevant fields.
Ambassador Yu said that this year marks the 80th anniversary of the founding of the United Nations and the 80th anniversary of the victory in the world anti-fascist war. In this changing and turbulent international environment, in particular, the United States launching a tariff war against all countries in the world, which has seriously jeopardized the legitimate interests of all countries and the international economic order, the international community should be united to deal with it together. China is ready to work with the relevant United Nations bodies to uphold the international order with the United Nations at its core, firmly support multilateralism and defend international justice.
