On September 24, Ambassador Xu Jianguo paid a visit to Nigerian Senate President David Mark at his residence, where they exchanged congratulations as the date of October 1st, National/Independence day shared by China and Nigeria, is approaching.
Ambassador Xu said, “As a friend to the Senate President and Nigeria, I would think that sharing the National day is a coincidence that doubles our pleasure and happiness”. He appreciated the efforts the Senate President had made to promote the friendship of China and Nigeria.
Senator Mark agreed with Ambassador Xu and said he had been to China in the 1990s. He said, “China is now developing rapidly and Nigeria is also working hard to implement the seven-point agenda”. He said he looked forward to more cooperation between the two countries.
