On September 19, 2024, H.E. Yu Dunhai, Chinese Ambassador to Nigeria, attended Seminar on Taking New Opportunities for China-Nigeria Cooperation in Deepening Reform in the New Era and delivered a Keynote speech on the spirit of the Third Plenary Session of the 20th Central Committee of the CPC and the outcomes of 2024 Summit of FOCAC. Counselor Yang Jianxing, Director of the China Cultural Center, attended the event.

Ambassador Yu introduced the major strategic deployment and epoch-making historical significance of the Third Plenary Session of the 20th CPC Central Committee through four key words, including “reform”, “opening up”, “high-quality development” and “Chinese path to modernization”. He expressed this meeting will provide an important guarantee for the stability of Chinese path to modernization and bring important development opportunities to Nigeria. Ambassador Yu stated that the meeting between the heads of China and Nigeria reached important consensus on upgrading the relationship of the two countries to a comprehensive strategic partnership of coordination, which has pointed out the direction for the development of China-Nigeria relationship.

Ambassador Yu answered questions from the audience and was interviewed by media reporters. More than 120 people from all walks of life in Nigeria participated in this event. More than ten mainstream Chinese and Nigerian media outlets, including XinhuaNet, News Agency of Nigeria, Nigeria Today, interviewed and reported on this event.

Before the event, Ambassador Yu inspected China Cultural Center in Nigeria, had cordial conversations with the staff and took photos with them.
