On October 11, 2024, H.E. Yu Dunhai, the Chinese Ambassador to Nigeria, met with H.E. Salaheddine Abbas Ibrahima, the Dean of the Diplomatic Corps in Nigeria, and the High Commissioner of Cameroon to Nigeria.
Ambassador Yu said since the establishment of diplomatic relations more than half a century ago, no matter how the international situation changes, China and Cameroon have always respected and supported each other. Our friendly and mutually beneficial cooperation has grown steadily, and our friendship is deeply rooted in the hearts of our peoples. In September this year, President Biya paid his 8th visit to China and attended the Summit of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC), reflecting the President’s strong commitment to developing China-Africa friendly cooperation and his deep affection for China. China is willing to work with Cameroon to implement the consensus reached by our two heads of state and the outcomes of the FOCAC Summit, build a more meaningful and important relationship of China-Cameroon friendly cooperation, and elevate our bilateral relations to a higher level.
Ambassador Salaheddine extended his warm welcome to Ambassador Yu. He pleasantly recalled his experiences of working and living in China, and briefly introduced the domestic situation and the Diplomatic Corps in Nigeria. The Ambassador also expressed his expectation of strengthening cooperation with Ambassador Yu and the Chinese Embassy in Nigeria, in order to implement the consensus reached by the two heads of state of China and Cameroon.
