On July 29, 2016, during the Coordinators' Meeting on the Implementation of the Follow-up Actions of the Johannesburg Summit of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC) in Beijing, Foreign Minister Wang Yi said to the press that the scale, level and outcomes of the meeting far exceeded original expectation. The meeting, with the attendance of over 100 ministerial officials of African countries, is a grand event for China-Africa cooperation. This fully indicates that the new ideas for China-Africa cooperation put forward by President Xi Jinping during the FOCAC Johannesburg Summit at the end of last year, especially the ten major China-Africa cooperation plans, completely meet the needs of African countries for future development, thus gaining intense and positive response from all African countries. It also completely demonstrates that the friendship between China and Africa is penetrating deeper into people's hearts, and launching cooperation with China is becoming the most extensive consensus in Africa that transcends political parties as well as ideologies.

Wang Yi noted that with strong vitality in the South-South cooperation between China and Africa, both sides are exploring new models of mutual benefit and win-win results. Before and after this Coordinators' Meeting, China and Africa have signed a large number of cooperation agreements, most of which are about investment cooperation. It is safe to say that investment cooperation is replacing assistance to become the new engine of China-Africa cooperation. Investment cooperation not only helps to accelerate the industrialization process and enhance the self-development capacity of African countries, but also facilitates China's equipments, technologies and products to enter into the African continent through production capacity cooperation, which in turn will stimulate domestic economic growth. Featuring mutual benefit and win-win results, this new cooperation model will lift and upgrade China-Africa economic and trade relations to a new stage, and exhibits broad development prospects.

Wang Yi said that this meeting is very successful. Both sides have conducted practical and heated discussions. We believe that the effect of the ten major China-Africa cooperation plans put forward by President Xi Jinping will further expand and definitely lead China-Africa relations to a new development stage.
