On October 28, Ambassador Yu Dunhai met with Dr. Kama Nkemkanma, Chairman of the House Committee on Climate Change and Security of Nigeria and the committee members.

Ambassador Yu stated that China-Nigeria comprehensive strategic partnership has achieved rapid development, with fruitful results in practical cooperation across various fields since President Tinubu’s state visit to China last year. China has actively participated in global climate governance, continuously advanced energy transition and green development, and made important contributions to the global emission reduction. The Fourth Plenary Session of the 20th Communist Party of China Central Committee, which was successfully held days ago, reaffirmed China’s commitments on emission reduction. China is willing to strengthen cooperation with Nigeria in green development, support Nigeria and other developing countries in redressing the historical injustice in the field of climate change, and jointly promote the harmonious coexistence between humanity and nature.

Dr. Kama stated that China has achieved remarkable achievements in the fields of new energy and green emission reduction, providing important reference for Nigeria to advance green development. The Nigerian side looks forward to strengthening exchanges and cooperation with China to contribute to the high-level development of Nigeria-China relations.
