I. Required Documents for Consular Legalization Application

1. Valid legal identity document of the applicant.

2. If an agent submits the application on behalf of the applicant, a copy of the applicant’s identity document, a power of attorney signed by the applicant, as well as the original and copy of the agent’s own identity document shall be provided.

3. A fully completed, true and accurate Application Form of Consular Legalization of the Embassy/Consulate of the People’s Republic of China. A dedicated form shall be used for Legalization for Death Certificate.

4. Original valid document subject to consular legalization.

5. Where the applicant is an enterprise or other organization, qualification certificate of the legal entity/organization and identity certificate of the legal representative or person in charge shall be submitted. If an agent submits the application, an authorization letter or introduction letter issued by the legal representative, person in charge, or the enterprise/organization shall be provided.

6. Other documents deemed necessary by the Embassy.

II. Application Channels

Non-Chinese applicants for consular legalization must submit applications via the Chinese Visa Application Service Center (VAC).

Chinese citizens may submit legalization applications directly to the Embassy or via the Visa Application Service Center. Service fees will be charged for applications submitted through the VAC.

III. Important Reminders

1. The Embassy reserves the right to approve or reject any legalization application; the Visa Application Service Center is not involved in the examination and approval process.

2. Any feedback or suggestions regarding services provided by the Visa Application Service Center may be sent to the Consular Section of the Embassy via email: abuja@csm.mfa.gov.cn

IV. Processing Time

- Standard service: 4 working days

- Express service: Collection available on the 3rd working day

- Urgent service: Collection available on the 2nd working day (only for extreme emergencies)

V. Fee Standards

Category: Civil Matter  Commercial Matter

Chinese Citizens: NGN 2,800  NGN 5,600

Foreign Citizens: NGN 8,400  NGN 16,800

Additional surcharges:

- Express service fee: extra NGN 9,500

- Urgent service fee: extra NGN 14,000

VI. Payment Methods

1. All fees shall be paid upon collection of legalization documents.

2. Cash and personal cheques are not accepted; only online bank transfers are available.
