On April 8, Chinese Ambassador to Nigeria Yu Dunhai met with Chief Mrs. Folasade Tinubu, Chairman of Nigeria’s National Market Committee.

Ambassador Yu stated that, under the strategic guidance of President Xi Jinping and President Tinubu, China-Nigeria comprehensive strategic partnership has entered the “fast lane.” China stands ready to work with Nigeria to implement the important consensus reached by the two heads of state and the outcomes of the Beijing Summit of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation. China is ready to strengthen the alignment of China’s 15th Five-Year Plan with Nigeria’s “Renewed Hope” Agenda, fully utilize the zero-tariff policy China has granted to 100% of tariff lines for products from African countries that have diplomatic relations with China, and jointly promote the high-quality development of China-Nigeria relations.

Chairman Tinubu spoke highly of China’s remarkable achievements in modernization, expressed gratitude for China’s long-term support and assistance to Nigeria’s economic and social development, and looked forward to further strengthening cooperation with China in areas such as trade and investment, people-to-people exchanges, and capacity building, so as to take bilateral relations to an even higher level.
