On October 20, 2026, Ambassador Yu Dunhai paid an official visit to Nasarawa State, during which he met with the Governor of Nasarawa State, H.E. Abdullahi A. Sule.

Ambassador Yu stated that under the strategic guidance of President Xi Jinping and President Bola Tinubu, the China-Nigeria comprehensive strategic partnership has entered a fast track. Recently, President Xi Jinping put forth a four-point proposition on advancing China-Africa mining cooperation, charting the course for mining cooperation between China and Africa as well as between China and Nigeria. Nasarawa State is known as the “Home of Solid Minerals”. China stands ready to deepen exchanges and cooperation with Nasarawa State in mining, agriculture, infrastructure and other sectors, leverage the catalytic effect of the zero-tariff policy, and help elevate bilateral relations to new heights.

Governor Sule welcomed Ambassador Yu to the State. He spoke positively of Nigeria-China relations and the four-point proposition on advancing China-Africa mining cooperation. He noted that Nasarawa State is ready to strengthen practical cooperation with China across all fields, provide a secure, stable and friendly business environment for Chinese enterprises, and deliver greater benefits to the people.

The Nasarawa State Government also hosted a welcome dinner in honour of Ambassador Yu.
