On March 11, 2025, Ambassador Yu Dunhai met with H.E. Hannatu Musa Musawa, Hannatu Musa Musawa, Minister of Art, Culture, Tourism and Creative Economy of Nigeria.

Ambassador Yu stated that President Bola Tinubu' s successful visit to China and attendance at the 2024 Beijing Summit of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation last year marked a significant milestone, with both leaders agreeing to elevate China-Nigeria relations to a comprehensive strategic partnership. China highly values the consolidation and development of friendly ties with Nigeria. Ambassador Yu expressed China' s readiness to work with Nigeria to implement the leaders' consensus and summit outcomes. He emphasized preparations for the 2026 'China-Africa Year of Cultural and People-to-People Exchanges' and enhanced cooperation in culture, tourism and creative industries to foster mutual learning between civilizations and stronger people-to-people bonds.

Minister Musawa acknowledged China as Nigeria' s trustworthy friend, appreciating China' s substantial support. Nigeria looks forward to deepening cultural, artistic, tourism and creative industry exchanges to sustain the enduring growth of our bilateral relations.
