On February 12, 2025, Ambassador Yu Dunhai met with a delegation led by Mr. Raphael O. Oraeluno, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Federal Ministry of Art, Culture, Tourism and Creative Economy of Nigeria and Mr. Ebenezer Onyeagwu, the CEO of Zenith Bank. Ambassador Yu stated that during President Tinubu' s visit to China and attendance at the The 2024 Beijing Summit of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC) last September, bilateral relations were elevated to a comprehensive strategic partnership. Strengthening people-to-people exchanges and promoting mutual learning is a key pillar of this partnership. Nigeria, as one of Africa' s most important cradles of civilization, presents significant opportunities for deepened cooperation in culture, arts, tourism, and the creative economy, especially with Nigeria' s entry as a BRICS partner country. China is committed to implementing the key consensus reached at the FOCAC Summit and the two leaders'  meeting.

Mr.Raphael emphasized that the longstanding friendship between Nigeria and China is rooted in mutual respect and cultural exchange. Nigeria looks forward to further enhancing cooperation in cultural and people-to-people ties with China, strengthening the foundation of public support for bilateral relations.
