On March 7, 2025, the Chinese Embassy in Nigeria, in collaboration with Federal Ministry of Women Affairs of Nigeria, hosted a commemorative event marking the 30th anniversary of the Beijing Declaration. The gathering attracted nearly 300 attendees, including H.E. Yu Dunhai, Chinese Ambassador to Nigeria, Mr. Raphael O. Oraeluno, Permanent Secretary of the Federal Ministry of Art, Culture, Tourism and Creative Economy of Nigeria, Mrs. Olubunmi, Permanent Secretary of the Federal Capital Territory's Social Development Secretariat, as well as members of the diplomatic corps and distinguished guests from various sectors.

Ambassador Yu highlighted China' s remarkable achievements in gender equality and women' s development over the past three decades. These accomplishments not only demonstrate China' s distinct approach to human rights but also represent significant contributions to global equality, development, and peace. He reaffirmed China' s commitment to working with Nigeria and other nations to further advance gender equality and women' s empowerment.

The event featured an exhibition showcasing Chinese women' s achievements in the new era, cultural displays, musical performances, and inspiring stories from accomplished women, all of which were well received by attendees.
