On May 24, 2025, the China Cultural Center in Nigeria hosted the 'Tea for Harmony·Yaji Cultural Salon' event. Chinese Ambassador to Nigeria Yu Dunhai attended and delivered remarks, with nearly 300 guests from various sectors, including Nigerian government officials, the diplomatic corps in Nigeria, teachers and students from international schools, and media representatives, participating in the event.

Ambassador Yu stated that China is the hometown of tea, and Chinese tea culture carries the philosophical idea of 'harmony is precious' and 'making friends through tea'. Taking tea as a carrier, this cultural event aims to implement the consensus reached during the meeting between the heads of state of China and Nigeria last September and President Xi Jinping's proposed 'Ten Partnership Actions for China-Africa Joint Promotion of Modernization', which will strongly promote the exchange and mutual learning of civilizations between the two countries. As 2026 marks the 'China-Africa Year of Cultural and People-to-People Exchange', China is willing to continuously deepen and strengthen exchanges and cooperation with Nigeria in such fields as culture, tourism, and education, so as to promote the common development and everlasting friendship between the two countries.

Ambassador Yu and the guests together tasted Chinese characteristic famous teas, enjoyed Chinese artistic performances, experienced Chinese calligraphy and painting art, and felt the charm of Chinese culture. The venue was filled with a harmonious and friendly atmosphere.
