On July 31, Chinese Ambassador to Nigeria Yu Dunhai met with Samaila Zubairu, President and CEO of the Africa Finance Corporation (AFC).

Ambassador Yu stated that in September 2024, President Xi Jinping proposed a six-point proposal on jointly advancing modernization with Africa and the "Ten Partnership Actions" at the Beijing Summit of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC), drawing a new blueprint for the development of China-Africa relations. As an important multilateral financial institution, the AFC has provided strong support for regional development. China remains Africa's most reliable partner and is willing to strengthen communication and collaboration with all parties, including the AFC, to implement the key consensus reached by the leaders of China, Africa, and Nigeria, deepen practical cooperation across various fields, and continuously deepen and solidify the China-Nigeria comprehensive strategic partnership.

Zubairu recalled his visit to China in June this year to attend the Summer Davos Forum and spoke highly of China's development achievements. He expressed that the AFC attaches great importance to cooperation with China and is willing to actively serve as a bridge and link as a financial institution to enhance exchanges and cooperation between the two sides in areas such as development planning, investment and financing, and infrastructure, thereby achieving mutual benefit and win-win outcomes.
