On August 15, 2026, Chinese Ambassador to Nigeria Yu Dunhai, met with Wang Weihuan, the newly elected Chairman of the Nigeria-China Mining Association, and delegates of the members.

Ambassador Yu noted that, under its new leadership, the Association would provide better services to Chinese mining enterprises in Nigeria, guide them in strengthening compliance, security and safety management, and environmental protection, and contribute to the steady advancement of China-Nigeria mining cooperation toward greater mutual benefit and win-win outcomes.

Chairman Wang thanked the Embassy for its continued support for the Association. He said that the Association would continue to draw on experience, improve the quality and efficiency of its work, and better serve China-Nigeria mining cooperation.
